NAGA World Adult Grappling Championship

SUNDAY, APRIL 25, 2020 ADULTS (18+)

The wait is over!  NAGA returns to New Jersey for our 26th annual NAGA World Grappling Championship. Come as an individual or as a team to compete in this no-gi & gi event.

The event is 100% confirmed however there are strict guidelines we must follow in order to run the event:

Attendance Limit:  300 Competitors on Sunday, once this number is reached, registration will be closed.  The venue will not allow us to have more than 150 people in the building at a time.  We will create several sessions and keep the competitor number under 75 per session so each person can bring a spectator.

NAGA Worlds Adults will have 3 competition sessions so that we can meet the capacity limits of the venue. The report times for sessions will be released tomorrow evening.

Session 1: ALL WOMEN, ALL MEN EXPERT NO-GI AND PURPLE, BROWN & BLACK BELTS
Check-in Time: 8 AM-9 AM
Session 2: ALL MEN INTERMEDIATE & BLUE BELTS
Check-in Time: 12 PM
Session 3: ALL MEN NOVICE & BEGINNER & WHITE BELTS
Check-in Time: 4:15 PM

Please Note: NAGA will NOT be accepting cash the day of the event for COVID-19 safety reasons

Spectator Limit: 1 Spectator per competitor per session, all spectator tickets must be purchased when the competitor registers. No spectator tickets will be sold at the door.  No individual spectator tickets will be honored if purchase separately from the competitor registration.

Coach Limit: 1 Coach per team per session.  Large teams, please contact us in advance if more than 1 coach is needed for a particular session.

After each session ends, all competitors, spectators, and coaches will be required to leave the venue so we can allow the next session's competitors, spectators, and coaches into the venue.  Coaches if you have students in multiple sessions you will be allowed to re-enter no problem.

A coach is someone who owns a gym or is a Black Belt/Instructor of a school.  Moms and dads are NOT coaches!

Competitors will then proceed to the weigh-in area to get weighed in. Children and Teens must be weighed-in by 9:30 AM in order to compete that day. If competitors 17 yrs. & under arrive after this time they will be removed from the tournament. Adults must be weighed in 1 hour before their estimated start time which will be available the Friday of the tournament. Once weighed-in, competitors will pick up their free NAGA gift and then be interviewed by one of our experienced referees. The referee will make sure competitors are in the correct skill level(s). At this time, we will also share the size of your division(s). If you are the only competitor in your bracket, the referee will discuss what options are available and move you to the agreed upon bracket.

FRIDAY WEIGH-IN TIMES
The Friday weigh-in is open to all competitors, children, teens and adults. The weigh-ins are from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM. If you weigh-in on Friday you do not need to weigh-in again on Saturday (children & teens) or Sunday (adults).

SUNDAY CHECK-IN AND WEIGH-IN TIMES
Adults (18 & over) compete on Sunday. You will only be able to access the tournament room during the session for which you are scheduled. Adult competitors (children & teens have a different link) can go here https://naga.smoothcomp.com/en/event/4556/schedule/matchlist to see what time your specific division(s) is scheduled for and what time your weigh in starts. Accurate weigh in times will be listed on Friday, April 23, 2021.

MULTIPLE DIVISIONS FOR CHILDREN & TEENS
Children and teen competitors who want to compete in an additional higher weight class or older age group division can do so for $20 per division. You can add one additional weight class or age group per division type (no-gi or gi) for a total of 4 divisions. Competitors cannot do multiple skill levels.
As an example: a beginner 11 year old 85 pound competitor could add the 90-99.9 weight class OR the 12-13 year old category (not both). They cannot add the intermediate skill level. They can do this for no-gi, gi, or both. It is $20 for each division added. If they wanted to go up in weight for no-gi and up in age for gi (or vice-versa) we can accommodate that request.
If you would like to add an additional division (or two), call the office at 860-295-0403 or email [email protected]. The following information is required in order to add the extra division(s): which tournament, the competitor’s name, up age or up weight, no-gi/gi/both, payment method (credit card, PayPal, Stripe), and the email address (only needed if you are calling in). NAGA will email you an invoice with a link to pay for the extra divisions. Once payment is made we will copy the competitor into the additional division(s).

NAGA is bringing a truckload of grappling gear (board shorts, bi bags, rash guards, t-shirts, hats, patches, skull caps, stickers, dog tags, etc.) in children and adults sizes, for males and females. Check out the huge selection of gear and apparel at the NAGA event.
